This has been a year + of milestones for me and my real estate journey. October of 2009 marked my 40th anniversary of starting my career in real estate. Then in 2010, the Business Journal contacted me and asked to do an article on my 40 years in the business. Oh my goodness! This past January, the good people at Short Sale Genius named me “Short Sale Genius of the Month”. Short Sale Genius is a top-notch training organization which has trained over 39,000 agents nationwide in short sales done right. Each month starting last November, they name an agent who in addition to having a documented level of closed short sales best exemplifies the business model and the code of ethics of the organization. So to be so recognized out of so many agents really blew me away!
My son, Ryan who is also my right hand man in my business said, “Mom, this is really a big deal!” He brought it to the attention of Coldwell Banker who added to the flurry with another citation which was sent out to all my clients and sphere of influence. One of the recipients of that letter and citation was my web designer who insisted that I put all this up on my blog. So here it is.
I want to be perfectly clear that all of this could never have taken place without the training and guidance of my dad, Bill Beale who brought me home from the professional tennis circuit in the fall of 1969 to get a real job in Real Estate. While many might say I have been so fortunate in my real estate career, maybe even lucky, my dad taught me that the harder you work, the luckier you get, and he made sure I developed a hard working work ethic!
I have also had incredible support from my family. Jim, my late husband who helped with the boys when I was out on appointments and those boys who helped me fold and stuff newsletters to clients in the early days all played a huge role in that success. Now, it is my wonderful husband Alan who not only is always there to encourage and support me, but to also offer his expertise whenever there is a construction or structural issue with a property I’m involved with. These days, Ryan has taken on a much greater role in our success by being my listing and transaction co-coordinator. His loyalty and devotion are incredible.
Last, but not least this career could never have gotten off the ground if it wasn’t for the hundreds of loyal past clients who continue to call me for their real estate needs and refer their friends. I am currently in escrow with a client who bought her first home from me 30 years ago and am helping another family look for a new home that will be their 5th house bought through me since first moving to Sacramento over 25 years ago. Those are just two of many who have demonstrated such loyalty to me over the years.
I want to say thank you to all of you; you have made me the success I am and there is not a day that goes by that I don’t thank you, my family and the Good Lord above for your love, loyalty and support. I am so blessed!
